2019 Women’s 400 World Rankings

Salwa Eid Naser climbed to No. 3 on the all-time list with her “new millennium record” 48.14 in Doha. (JIRO MOCHIZUKI/IMAGE OF SPORT)

AFTER CLAIMING THE NO. 1 SPOT in both ’16 and ’17, Shaunae Miller-Uibo looked poised to dominate the event for a long time. And then along came Salwa Eid Naser to claim the ’18 leadership, despite losing to SMU in their only meeting. They met only a single time again this year, with Naser scoring a spectacular WC victory to cap an undefeated season which saw her win 5 DL meets…

THERE WERE NO DL MEETS for Miller-Uibo, but she was nonetheless the clear choice for the runner-up position, likewise third Doha medalist Shericka Jackson for No. 3… In the battle for the top American spot, Phyllis Francis narrowly edged Wadeline Jonathas for the No. 4 position. NCAA champ Jonathas beat Francis by a spot at the WC but had no exposure on the international circuit.
