2022 Men’s 800 World Rankings

Emmanuel Korir ran his way to his third No. 1 in the last four selections. (KEVIN MORRIS)

HEADING INTO THE WC Emmanuel Korir had a rather mediocre résumé, one that featured a 5th, 6th & 8th to go with a win in a meet of little consequence. But the UTEP alum quickly showed why he was No. 1 last year (and in ’18), winning gold in convincing fashion. Any remaining doubts as to who belonged on top were quashed by his win in the DL Final with a year-leading 1:43.26…

WC SILVER MEDALIST Djamel Sedjati had a breakthrough season. It was short at 5 meets, but he did enough to confirm his runner-up status in Eugene… Canada’s Marco Arop repeated as No. 3…

NO AMERICAN made the Top 10 for the first time since ’15.
