2022 Men’s 200 World Rankings

Of his USATF gesture at the finish Noah Lyles explained, “It was, ‘I’m pointing at all those people who kept doubting me all year and all last year.’” (ANDREW McCLANAHAN/PHOTO RUN)

NOAH LYLES WAS PERFECT in winning his third No. 1 in the last 4 Rankings, going 8-for-8 and cranking out 7 of the year’s 9 fastest times. The fastest of them, an American Record 19.31 to win WC gold, topped the yearly list and moved him to No. 3 all-time. The slowest of his wins was 19.86…

AS IN THE 100, the U.S. swept the WC medals and claims the first three spots here as well. The difference is that bronze winner Erriyon Knighton beat silver winner Kenny Bednarek 3–1 overall and thus gets the No. 2 position… Knighton’s PR 19.49 gave him the World Junior Record — and he still has another year in the U20 category…

AT AGE 22, No. 4-rated Alexander Ogando improved his PR all the way from 20.54 to 19.91.
