PAT HENRY’S TEXAS A&M SQUAD won another women’s indoor dual meet championship, continuing its trend of winning in even-numbered years (’20, ’18, ’16, ’14). The Aggies won a triangular against Houston and TCU early in the season, then clinched the win with a quadrangular win at their own Aggie Invitational.
Runner-up Tennessee earned its highest ever indoor ranking, and No. 3 Kansas State got their highest indoor ranking since ’15.
All of this is just a precursor to the big prize, the season-long comprehensive rankings released during the outdoor season. To be ranked, a team must compete in one or more dual meets (defined as a scored meet between 4 or fewer teams) during the indoor season. Teams are ranked on a combination of not only wins & losses, but also marks and strength & depth of dual meet schedule. Teams are rewarded for taking dual-meet competition seriously.
