2024 Men’s Long Jump World Rankings

Surpassed in global title meets only once in the past 4 seasons (at the ’22 WC) and supremely consistent, Miltiádis Tentóglou easily extended his No. 1 streak. (GIANCARLO COLOMBO/PHOTO RUN)

ALREADY THE FIRST EUROPEAN ever to earn the top spot 3 years in a row, Miltiádis Tentóglou ran that streak to 4 in a season where he was the world’s only 28-foot performer. And the Greek star produced that 28-4½ (8.65) twice in the same meet in a discipline where at the elite level shoe technology looks to have done little to improve the event…

ONE OF ONLY 3 to claim a victory over Tentóglou on the season, Wayne Pinnock repeated as No. 2, the first to do that since Godfrey Mokoena of South Africa in 2008–09…

CONTINUING TO FALL ON HARD TIMES, the once-dominant U.S. failed to have a scorer for only the third time in history, joining ’13 and ’00. By way of comparison, in the first 5 years of the Rankings the totals were 9 of 10, then 8, 8, 9, 8. None of the U.S.’s 3 Olympic entries made it into the final.
