2021 Men’s 400 Hurdles World Rankings

Karsten Warholm became the first to break 47 in 3 different years… oh yeah, the first and only ever to break 46 in any year. (GLADYS CHAI/ASVOM AGENCY)

THE ALL-TIME LIST GOT DESTROYED: ’21 produced history’s 4 fastest times and 5 of 6. The chief architect of destruction was Karsten Warholm, who first ran a 46.70 to take down Kevin Young’s longstanding World Record by 0.08…

A MONTH LATER Young was only No. 4 on the all-time list as Tokyo’s quick track saw Warholm (45.94 WR), Rai Benjamin (46.18) and Alison dos Santos (46.72) capture the Olympic medals…

WARHOLM’S WIN STREAK is now at 18; he hasn’t lost since September of ’18… Benjamin’s mark claimed the American Record… Warholm (5) and Benjamin (4) both had compact seasons, dos Santos (12) having more than the two of them combined… The 8 Olympic finalists ended up in the same order at the top of the Rankings.
