2025 Women’s 100 World Rankings

Ranked No. 9 in ’22 and No. 3 in ’24, Melissa Jefferson-Wooden authored a clear-cut No. 1 season in ’25. (GLADYS CHAI von der LAAGE)

OBVIOUSLY THE PEAK POSITION belonged to Melissa Jefferson-Wooden, who moved up 2 spots from last year. The undefeated world champ produced not only the yearly world leader but also the year’s 5 fastest marks…

DEFENDING No. 1 Julien Alfred came at her twice and suffered her only two losses of the year. Alfred was the dominant figure on the DL Circuit, winning Oslo, Stockholm, Monaco & Zürich with MJW capturing 3 (Eugene, Chorzów & Brussels). That left Rabat for Shericka Jackson, where she got her only win of the year (all meets)…

CELEBRATING HER FINAL season before retirement, über-vet Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce didn’t win anything, but was solid enough to claim her twelfth recognition, in the No. 9 position. In all-time scoring she moved out of a tie with Evelyn Ashford and past East Germany’s Marlies Göhr to No. 2 ever.
