2023 Men’s 100 World Rankings

No stranger to taking the crown at twice the distance, Noah Lyles has picked up a century No. 1. (GLADYS CHAI/ASVOM AGENCY)

NOAH LYLES WON THE WC, but was far from a slam-dunk choice for No. 1 as he returned to the century ratings for the first time since ’19…

He crossed the line first in only 3 of his 7 races and had just a 1–3 record against DL winner Coleman. Measuring the average of 5 fastest races, Coleman was a narrow 9.9874–9.888 winner. Coleman had a fatal flaw on his scorecard, however, finishing only 5th in Budapest…

OBLIQUE SEVILLE & ZHARNEL HUGHES were both totally lacking in DL exposure, but earned enough credits elsewhere to claim positions 3 & 5. They’re split by the busy Ferdinand Omanyala, who ran no fewer than 18 finals.

DEFENDING No. 1 FRED KERLEY won a couple of DL races early but then faded and didn’t earn a spot in the Budapest final.
