Died: Jayson Baldridge, 26
On August 18, of leukemia. An All-America for Baylor on the 4×4, he specialized in the 400H, where he ran 49.10 in ’22. As a prep (George Ranch, Richmond, Texas) he was the No. 5 All-America in the long hurdles as a junior in ’16.
Died: Al Frame, 91
On July 22, in Kinsley, Kansas. The winner of the ’54 NCAA XC for Kansas, he also placed 5th in ’55. On the track, he placed 3rd in the ’55 NCAA 2M.
Died: Joe Vigil, 95
On July 19, in Green Valley, Arizona. The coach at Adams State 1965–93, Vigil led his teams to 19 Div. II titles, coaching 87 individual champions along the way. He later coached numerous elite athletes, and was Team USA coach for seven World XC Championships. ◻︎
