THIS COMPILATION LISTS the fastest men ever at 1760y (aka 1609.344m), one per each letter of the alphabet, arranged by last name, through  the ’23 season, during which there were 2 changes.

3 of 26 have broken 3:45, 18 of 26 have broken 3:50, 24 of 26 have broken 3:55 and 25 of 26 have broken 4:00. Many thanks to Bob Phillips and his great chronicling of sub-4:00 milers for providing valuable data.
