TEXAS TECH won its first-ever collegiate men’s dual meet championship in ’18, and won again this year. Wes Kittley’s Red Raiders did it on the strength of a defeat of #4 Nebraska and marks showing tremendous balance across nearly all events.
#2 UCLA bounced back from last year, when it missed the rankings for the first time ever. On Sunday the Bruins soundly defeated #8 USC by the score of 102–60. For the first time ever, all three service academies are in the top 25. Three Ivy League teams are ranked, also a first.
To be ranked, a team must compete in one or more dual meets (defined as a scored meet between 4 or fewer teams) during the indoor season. Teams are ranked on a combination of not only wins & losses, but also marks and strength & depth of dual meet schedule. Teams are rewarded for taking dual meet competition seriously.
