Alexander Doom, Belgium’s ’24 World Indoor 400 champ, had a mixed season indoors and stuck to the relays in Toruń. “I did struggle with a small tear in my adductor again four weeks ago, but we can run again and hopefully also make a contribution.”
Another reason for multi-eventers not to like the vault: Brazil’s José Fernando Ferreira finished 12th and last in the World Indoor heptathlon, nearly 400 points off his best. It didn’t help that in the final event, the 1000, he got decked by an errant pole as he passed the vault. He managed to get up and finish.
