Fueled by a perfect 9-0 record, for the first time in school history, Cal has won the collegiate dual-meet championship. Tony Sandoval’s Bears ran the table in a 4-meet season that included a dual (over archrival Stanford), a triangular, and two quadrangulars. The Bears’ best previous finish in the rankings was No. 3 in ’86.

An interview with Sandoval was published today at DailyRelay.com.

The next three teams are not new to the top. #3 Arkansas won the title last year, #4 Oregon won in 2012, and #2 Texas A&M finishes in the top three for the third year in a row.

The complete final rankings:

Rankings reflect a combined indoor/outdoor season, but with a heavier emphasis on outdoor competition. To be ranked, a team must compete in one or more dual meets (defined as a scored meet between four or fewer teams). Teams are ranked on wins and losses, marks, and strength and depth of dual meet schedule. Teams are rewarded for taking dual meet competition seriously.
