A History Of The NCAA
Championships, 1921-2017

This project, long envisioned as a book, began as a pamphlet written by T&FN Editor E. Garry Hill, listing the top 6 finishers of the NCAA Championships from its inception in 1921 through the meet of 1981, the last one that was men-only and was also the last with 6 places scored. In the years since, the project has grown and grown, with thousands of bits of missing data slowly being filled in (yeah Google!). At this point, with ink-and-paper publications falling so far out of favor, it was decided to bring it online instead.

Major updates prior to the ’18 meet include much more than just than the results of the most recent meet. Dozens of previously missing classes were filled in, as have some missing first names. And, thanks to some excellent photo analysis by Richard Hymans, we have more estimated times in places behind 1st.
