Pedestrian – A Person Travelling on Foot; a Walker.
Pedestrianism – The act, art, or practice of a pedestrian; walking or running; traveling or racing on foot.
Pedestrianism was a popular spectator sport during the late 1800s.
Centurion – Walk 100 Miles in a judged sanctioned event within 24 Hours.

Alan Price History Milestones:
September 23, 1978 - Alan qualified as an American Centurion for the first time at age 31. His time of 18:57:41 was a new American record for walking 100 miles.

September 3, 1979 - Sets an American 24 hour record of 118 miles, 316 yards. His first 50 miles on this occasion was done in 8:44:00.

September 29, 1984 – He broke his American 100 mile record with a time of 18:46:13.

Alan Price would go on to walk 100 miles an amazing 23 times from 1978 to 1993. He won the American Centurions qualifier event on nine straight occasions. Here’s his list of performances from this American Centurion Legend.
