    I think it likely to be more of an impact on football in D2 and D3 than D1. Even if the pool of HS players diminishes, there will be enough to fill the spots in D1. And football is not the revenue sport in D2 and D3 that it is in D1.

    Of course, there will be some superior athletes who chose not to play HS football. We can hope that track & field picks up some of them.

    I would amend that to say that, more and more, there are parents who will not allow their superior athlete sons to play tackle football.
