Brits are so silly in their insistence that A country is a plural noun.

"Russia, who hosted the 2018 World Cup, have been banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada)."

It's obviously a collective singular; even 'the United States" is singular!

Russia in this article is a soccer team rather than the country.

Moreover, Iíd really like to know: What has our sports ministry and Olympics committee done for me over the past 4 years? Theyíve created so many commissions, but Iíve never seen the results of any of their work. In fact, I donít even have neutral status anymore, nor do I have the opportunity to restore it.

Op-ed by Lasitskene. She doesn't know whether she can compete or not.

I'm wondering how this will affect the tennis players, like Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachanov & Andrey Rublev among the men and numerous Russian women. None of them have ever tested positive under ATP or WTA protocols, except for Maria Sharapova, who presumably wouldn't get ANA status. If it winds up there's no ANAs in Olympics, they presumably would be prevented from competing. Who knows whether the "private" ATP or WTA would back their Russian members (the ITF is the international rep to the IOC) and threaten to boycott the Olympics?
As for the Grand Slams, the ITF is involved there, too, but the tournaments themselves are owned by independent groups (Australian Federation, French Federation, Wimbledon & USATF) that aren't beholding to IOC.

The US Open is run by the USTA (United States Tennis Association), not USATF.

Can we get that threat in writing, boys? You will not be missed. Partly because you are boxers and virtually no one gives a rat's ass about boxing anymore. Partly because you are from Russia and the world is sick of your bullshit. https://www.espn.com/olympics/story/...ons-not-lifted
