    I think this is true. Actually, I think many coaches in American football glorify behavior like Garrett's. Shows how tough they are.

    Garrett's 2019 season is over, but he'll be back on the field sometime next season, because of the "boys will be boys" culture of football, and because Rudolph wasn't visibly injured by the hit.

    If Rudolph was knocked unconscious and ended up in a two-month coma, with the media broadcasting pictures of him on his hospital bed hooked up to various tubes and wires, the optics would be too terrible for the NFL to let Garrett ever play again.

    So true. But you'll still know by the way the athlete says it, like an actor trying to give a good line-reading.
