Schafer to train with Kaul & Mihambo 4x1 news
    #1
2017 World heptathlon silver medalist Carolin Schafer has left her training group and will now train with 2019 World decathlon champion Niklas Kaul.

Kaul is trained by his parents Stefanie and Michael Kaul.

Schafer struggled with a knee injury after London 2017, she scraped a bronze medal at the Europeans in 2018 but then DNS in Doha. She also changed her SP technique in 2019 from the step-back to the spin. I imagine she will revert back to the step-back or glide.

It will be interesting to see whether her JT and 800m improve too, considering how great Niklas is in the JT & 1500m.

Other German news: World Long Jump Champion Malaika Mihambo says she wants to run the 4x100 next season in Tokyo. She was 3rd over 100m at the GER champs this season and ended the season with a PB of 11.21. The LJ is before the relay, so there is no reason why she cannot be in the relay pool if she stays one of the fastest and attends the relay training camps.

Which brand is she sponsored by? Does changing coaches affects her sponsorships?
