Just got an email announcing the new website.
Ironically, It ain't working yet.

Missed my point. Why would you announce a new website, give the URL, if was NOT ready?

From the letter:

If you visit www.iaaf.org, you will be automatically redirected.

What you were 'redirected to' was an error page that said the link did not work. At the least, it should have directed you to an IAAF page that announced WHEN it would be up.

I'm sure the website was in place when the announcement was made. The delay is in propagation through DNS servers. Those are the servers throughout the web that resolve urls to the underlying ip addresses. The thumb rule is that this process takes 24-48 hours, and is out of the control of the site owner.

By comparison, the transition to the new USATF site anticipated a two-week window without being able to upload new content.

Called up some athlete profiles just to see the new site and note that someone at WA apparently had the bright idea of having the athletes pose for photos.

Result: mugshots that have the athletes looking as though they've been handed hard time or failed a breathalyzer.

Seems to me the profile pages would have been just fine with the "on the track" photos.
