    Westwood on 6-Aug-89 was a mile race. Combining data from T&FN and http://www.digilander.libero.it/atle.../1989/1500.htm, then the results were as follows,

    1. Doug Padilla - 3:54.2 (3:39.2)
    2. John Quade - 3:54.6 (3:39.1)
    3. Jeff Atkinson - 3:55.3 (3:39.6)
    4. Maurice Smith - 3:56.0 (3:39.7)

    Noted. Zorko should be Croatia.

    WA.org has Robert Kiplagat Andersen (DEN) in 7th at 3:39.41. Oddly, I cannot find any of the others on the WA.org results pages.

    Harlow on 20-Aug-89 was a mile race...

    1. Peter Elliott - 3:53.4
    2. Adrian Passey - 3:54.9
    3. Mark Rowland - 3:55.6
    4. Paul Davis-Hale - 3:56.5

    The only intermediate 1500 time I found was 3:38.7 for Passey

    Interesting...Rowland is now the coach of the OTC Elite...and Davies-Hale won the Chicago Marathon later that year.

    Well all those guys have outlived that Harlow track which is about 25 miles from me. The town has a replacement track that I think has still not been passed fit for club competition.

    I met Peter Elliott about 15 years ago at a motorway service station in south-west England along with my parents. We had a pleasant short chat. At the time of Seb Coe's non-selection for Seoul '88 some of the British press liked to portray Elliott as some kind of stroppy Northerner. I think down to earth and approachable seem more accurate descriptions.

    Once again thanks to Ianb. On Master403 point about Kiplagat Anderson finishing 7th as per WA further investiagation is needed.
