Great article from Jen Rhines in T&F News front page on her experience as a female with body image, weight shame, and success in HS, College, Professional career spanning some 20+ years. There are two sides to every debate, story, and scandals. I think having the right coach, teacher, mentor has a great impact on one's running career and Terrance Mahon was big influence on Rhines even before their marriage.
I hope the best for Mary Cain and believe she will have a great positive influence in track and field as and athlete, coach, or executive in the sport.

Very honest and compelling blog from Tianna Bartoletta on this subject which Jen Rhines responded to on Twitter. Interesting given TB is a Nike sponsored athlete.

    Meanwhile....Hasay speaks....

“Alberto, if you ask me is he obsessed about weight? Yes, but he’s obsessed about everything,” she said. “He wanted to cut my hair [to reduce drag], he wanted me to wear a wetsuit in the Boston Marathon. It’s just every little detail is covered and weight happens to be one of those things.”

    A wetsuit in a marathon? That's psychotic.

...and weight is a lot more relevant to distance running performance than hair length.

Not so psychotic in 2018. Hasay was scheduled to run, but pulled out ahead of the race due to injury.

Lucky her. It's bad enough running in one in a triathlon with a long transition from lake to bike. You sweat profusely in a wetsuit. The thought of running a marathon in one is disturbing.

And I’ve never heard that a good, short haircut leads to amenorrhea, osteoporosis, stress fractures, etc.
