I'm pretty sure that Brianna ran the 4x100m for her school at the FHSAA meet on May 4th they won with a time of 46.01 which I think would satisfy the criteria of having represented a US High School Northeast (Oakland Park) HS. "Varsity - 3A Girls 4x100m 3A

    1 45.40
    2 Northeast (Oakland Park) 46.01

I doubt 4x100 relay legs are a consideration for HS AOY.

No but it qualified her to be considered. Her other meets made her win.

You entirely miss the point; it is a rebuttal to posts like 1 and 19, especially 19 where the OK criteria are met while they thought her not 'eligible' because they had the facts wrong.

representing your HS is not a requirement. See Nos. 4 (Mu) and 10 (Davis) in this year's voting. Since neither of those (nor Williams) were seniors this year, next year's voting could end up dominated by non-rep types.

I see the issues here, but had she NOT been selected, THAT would have been a huge firestorm.

GH, I'm thinking back to Billy Konchellah in the early 80s - as both a non-citizen *and* non-school representative, he was not considered for AoY. Do those same criteria still apply?

Can a HS athlete who turns pro while in HS be considered for AOY?
