Well, that's a sad state of affairs for T&F statistical inquiry - not that people are lining up at Wal-Mart for T&F stat books . . . .
Not surprising they are out of print....the audience for a book like that is miniscule at best...that is why I got a copy when they first appeared...

Edit - In 1956, when the season ended with the Nov/Dec Olympics, there is no list after it.

Edit 2 - looking at 1954, there were all sorts of 'post-season' meets with huge results from USA stars like Bright (800), Shelton (HJ), Gordien (DT-WR), Miller (JT-WR)
Not sure what you mean....there are lists....they are just not in print at the moment...but copies exist...

There are historical USA lists? I've seen that there are World lists (albeit unavailable for purchase), but not USA ones. Who might have them (I've got extra grandkids available for trade)?

Although the bookstore/distributor I linked to for the Women's book is out of stock, you might want to check with the compilers using the info found here:

    Jolly good....

Though how accurate are they? In 1961 for instance there couldn't have been that many Americans running 5000 and 10,000 compared to the 3 and 6....

Also are the sprints and middle distances conversions....the domestic scene in those days was almost all imperial....

I assume they're as accurate as possible, since I've actually known about this site for a long time (forgot that year lists were a clickable option).
    The conversions are the usual (200 .1, 400 .3, 800 .7, etc.). The 5 and 10 lists don't include 3s or 6s.
    1950, f'rinstance, has both the 1500 and Mile, but only 8 5s and 4 10s and 5 Steeples.
    Still a great site!

It's entertaining...but certainly not definitive.....how did they make up the lists....especially in the early 20th century....this stuff is not easy to come by. And for many years having 5 and 10 only lists is almost pointless....
