    So based on their logic then shouldn't all modern shoes be banned because they're all technologically superior than the shoes of (pick a number) years ago. Should cyclists do the same thing with bikes?

    Every elite runner will (already has?) access to them, so where's the beef? The record book?
    T&F/Running has always had the benefit of better equipment to help break the records of those who went before.
    The rule that WA needs to consider is where the future line should be held, i.e., springs in the soles. The line between carbon plates and THEIR successors will blur the distinction.
    There is a slippery slope here, but we're not there yet.

    Anyways an insane idea....how are they going to stop Nike from making them and people wearing them....so they aren't official...who gives a toss.

    No WR recognition. They could also nullify your mark from their database (rankings). They could even DQ you from events after the fact.
