Happy birthday today (Tuesday) to an Olympic champion who was born on a Tuesday 84 years ago this day.

In a span of one week, this athlete won three Olympic gold medals and equaled the world record in the second of those three events.

No hurdles were involved in any of those Olympic medals.

Name our birthday athlete for this third Tuesday of October.

Bobby-Joe Morrow, who would have been a sub-10 man with modern tracks, shoes and [legal] training methods.

I sensed you'd be asking this one today [and on a personal note, thanks for the card]

Was there really a hyphen in his name? Wiki doesn't think so (but we know they're not infallible).

Happy birthday today to Bobby Morrow and good job, tandfman. Morrow won the 1956 Olympic 100 and three days later, he won the 200. A week after winning that 100, he anchored the winning four by 100 relay on the first day of December (talk about a long season).

It was rhymans, not I, who got the right answer.

You're right and I thank you both. Very good, rhymans. Sorry I reversed that.
