    Which prompts to ask a question Iíve asked several friends, with no satisfactory answer...what is the function of the geometric cutout on the front part if the helmet? Is it a little door that they open to put back in a playerís spilled brains??

    I believe it is similar to what auto manufacturers call a "crumple zone."
