Those 1500m runners are pretty accomplished 5000 runners. Lagat is only doing longer races these days, Centro just ran 13:00, Chelimo, the Ingebritsons, ... None of these runners should have a problem running a 14:12 5km on essentially a straight.

I'm not saying they will have a problem with maintaining the pace. But neither would 13:10-13:15 5000 specialists, who I suppose would come a lot cheaper.
