I think there's a decent 200 kid whose folks were pretty fair sprinters.

One obvious example is Hal and Olga Connolly, both Olympic gold medalists and parents of Jim Connolly, an NCAA decathlon champion.

Hal is also a double scorer. His second marriage was to Olympian Pat Connolly and their son Adam was a nationally ranked hammer thrower.

LOL!!! Just because mom and dad were good in track, that do not mean their kids will be.

Now that we are on this subject, can anyone think of an instance where mom and dad was very good at track and field and so were their kids?

In the UK we have World 5000 finalist Eilish McColgan whose mother was a World 10000 champ and father was an 8:29 'chaser and 1500 finalist Jake Wightman whose mother was a sub 70 minute half-marathoner and whose father finished about 6th in the European Champs marathon.

How about these credentials? Little trivia question as well.

FATHER : 10.3, 21.2 , 45.6, 4:12.7, 7.93 (26 ft) long jumper, Olympic decathlon champ and WR setter. TFN cover athlete October 1969.

MOTHER : 6.76 - in 1964 - (22-2½ ) WR setting Olympic champion long jumper, Olympic multi-event silver medalist (pentathlon), 4x100 bronze medalist.

Maybe a great grandchild will express those genes.
