I think Crouser is about maxed out. Kovacs, not so sure.

Crouser thinks Kovacs has upside - he mentioned it in an interview post medal-ceremony.

What makes people think Crouser doesn’t have another 8 inches in him?

    Is Walsh maxed out?

I mis-remembered the top marks, although I do not place much confidence in Timmermann's record. Here is from T&FNews Records:

Shot 23.12 | 75-10¼ Randy Barnes (US) Westwood, California 5/20/90
[note: Barnes tested positive for steroids later in the year; in keeping with standard policy,
T&FN does not carry any of his ’90 marks on its all-time lists]
[best non-Barnes mark: 23.06 | 75-8 Ulf Timmermann (East Germany) Chanía, Crete 5/22/88]

I hate to say it, but my guess would be Walsh.

I think Sifan Hassan, with her incredible range, can do it.
