Certainly puts more of a darker cloud over Mo, Rupp, Centrowitz et al, with statements like that from the IOC head than already appear.

Meanwhile....part of the fallout could be UK Athletics getting less funding....

"Following the judgement against Salazar, UK Sport has held talks with UK Athletics. UK Sport has awarded £27m of public funding to UK Athletics in the current Olympic cycle.

A UK Sport spokesperson said: "The board of UK Athletics is now, quite rightly, taking some time to review Usada's arbitration decision in full, and we will discuss this with them before making any further comment."

"Tim Crow, an independent sports marketing expert, said Nike’s decision to stand by Mr Salazar was a big risk.

“If the appeal fails, then quite clearly Salazar becomes a non-person and Nike will have no option but to cut their ties with him,” Mr Crow said."

I don't read the headline that way. It could mean that he's saying what Salazar is saying--they don't do doping.

They should at least disclose the fact that Masback is a Nike employee when they're discussing it in the booth.

I didn't realize Masback was a Nike employee, so a disclosure would seem appropriate to those who don't know. But what gets me about Masback is he's obviously a smart person and had a strong running career, but as an announcer sometimes he makes the dumbest comments or mistakes like he never ran in his life or knows anything about the sport.
