Cash in the bank, plus seeing yourself on a global TV feed enough times.

Elaine stood straight up. That won't happen in the semi. May have been by design. That achilles is still not at 100%

Shelly's amazing run is causing people to overthink Elaine's performance. This run, 11.14 (-0.4), is consistent with what she has ran in every national or global championship in which he ran at least 10.73. In general, she's never impressive in the heat.

Could just be that Shelly is in godly form. Or could be that Shelly showed more of herself in the heat than we realise.

I am not overthinking anything. I know that she just stood straight up. I also know the achilles is not 100% and I know Franno

The thing that made that 10.8 so scary is that at no point did it look like she was really working for it; that was a supremely easy run! I still think Thompson will etch out a narrow victory, though.

Bowie looks out of it, Schippers look good enough to make the final, Ta Lou and Asher-Smith look to be the contenders for bronze.

I think the final will be a race for gold between Thompson and Fraser-Pryce, and a race for bronze between Asher-Smith and Ta Lou. I think the Jamaican duo will have at least a tenth on whoever finishes third.
