Would be interested to hear what exactly happened as I didn't get to watch it. How far did she get in the race? Hope she didn't have a collapse over a hurdle that caused additional injury.

I think she pulled up just after the 6th hurdle.

The closest I ever came to being a hurdler was running the steeple, so tell me: Is it really that damned hard to get both legs over the hurdle? That's two DQs so far.

I think it's usually a case of the foot of the trial leg going round the side of the hurdle.

One of the DQs was Sara Slott Peterson an Olympic medalist.

Agree. See my comment above. Carter was definitely no where near healthy enough to be at this meet.

Yeah, based on the rules she earned her spot obviously.

But if an athlete knows they aren’t healthy, you’d hope they would let the next person (who is a medal contender) give it a shot. I don’t know if Carter felt better than she looked though. Tough.

Benjamin was questioning a few days before the start of his race if he should pull out but decided to just go out and see how it goes. Maybe Carter saw his results and figured she could do it to.
Rules are rules and she made it to Doha and tried her best.
