I'm drinking an average of 2 liters of water every 10k, watching this women's marathon!

Salpeter 23 seconds back at halfway. The live commentary said they passed 21k in 1:16:18.

Salpeter is now catching up quickly. Just 16s down at 25k. The leaders ran the last 5k in 18:27; Salpeter did 17:58, her fastest split yet.

Glad I'm not watching....sounds horrible...drinking water probably wouldn't help much in such high humidity....wearing an ice vest might have...

In a way, this is similar to Boston last year. Huge difference between the rain and wind at Boston and the heat and humidity here, but the physical and mental aspect of the weather is similar in how it opens the door for lesser known runners to move up in the second half.

It looks like Salpeter is now starting to suffer. 25 secs behind at 27k.
