They completed butchered the exchange between Williams and Cheeseborough, and then the exchange between Cheeseborough and Givens was somehow even worse. They still only missed the final by 0.01.

1991 for sure they didn't even make it to the finals. Baton dropped in the SF.

After that 41.6 there's certainly talk about GDR being a favourite to win. Thats some pressure to deal with. Not sure they'll be able to handle that and step up.

No pressure at all for GDR, hasn't been sind 1989. Now if you are talking about GER, USA has to handle the pressure of being favourites at almost every championship and they do well, why not Germany?

GDR teams never cracked under pressure; the wall was another story.

The German anchor (L) is pretty quick in the 100 given that she had probably the worst start of an major 100m runner. Her 100 time is not indicative of what she can do to hold off a fast close. Also, if she gets a more efficient handoff, she will be going out faster than the Jamaicans (or Americans, ....). Watch that 41.6. And this track should be faster, right?

Judging by the times yesterday I'm not sure it really is super fast.

jamaica sure looking good based on the SAFP and Elaine T in the 100 heats

also looked at the US results previously...11 medals plus a retroactive doping DQ where they originally won

Going by the US women in the 100 heats one expects at least JAM beating them, probably GBR too, and they will be fighting with GER for bronze
