That's because 6.52 would not have made the cut It would have put her in 9th.

Why is Bowie long-jumping? Her best jump (6.91) is more than a half-decade old. She needs to be running the 200! She ran her fastest time of her career at the 2017 Prefontaine (21.77), and hasn't run a 200 since. She could have easily been on the podium this week, if she were in that kind of shape again.

I'm afraid Brittney Reese's best days may be behind her. You could always count on her to pop a big one when it really counted. But now Father Time may be catching up to her. How often has she been injured since Rio 2016?

Why is Bowie veering so far to the right before the takeoff on every jump. Surely not running in a straight line hurts her takeoff speed.

She was not fit enough to run the 100m, let alone the 200m. She is clearly close to her best Long jump form ever right now and in medal contention at the moment.

    That comment aged well

She said in an interview after qualifying that she knew she wasn't in good sprint form and hasn't had many LJ comps this season but had been training hard for the jump and coach was planning for her to (I'm paraphrasing) fly under the radar.
