OK, here you can see the mark made by KJT's shot on the '13.86' attempt. Draw your own conclusions. The lines were at 12 and 14 meters.

I cannot seem to copy the figure, but doing a couple of measurements on it I get it marginally under 13.5, although distance from the back are compressed more so I would guess it to be 13.52 but it could be a short as 13.45.

So would only lose about 24 pts and would still be 6th all time and GBR record holder.
Youve a bee in your bonnet about this Powell, and have always been a wee bit negative about KJT's ability. Time to let it go, let it goooo

In the raw image it's about (or just over) two-thirds of the way from the 12-meter line to the 14-meter line, as shown in this edited version; the pixel in the middle of the 12-meter line is at (474,398), the pixel that probably represents the closest point of the impact hole is at (398,475), and the pixel in the middle of the 14-meter line is at (362,512).

Estimating the distance is a lot more complicated than that because of the perspective issues 26mi235 noted, and also because the lines are never exactly right; most likely it was a bit longer than the 13.35 the raw numbers suggest.

For what it's worth, for the 16 athletes who finished the event, the average difference between the actual scores and my initial projected scores is 94 points, or 1.49%.

I think Powell's point was about egregiously poor marking. That should be a concern for every fan.
