I think Thiam needs to throw about 56 to take the lead and KJT is a much better 800m runner.

What a great comp KJT is having, this really bodes well for the Olympics. She's finally starting to put it together across the two days this last 18 months of so, she's coming good at the perfect moment s we head for the Olympics. Especially as Thiam is showing a few chinks in her armour.

Looks like Thiam is passing her 3rd throw.

Seems sensible. She obviously got the elbow issue, Kat has thrown far enough that she'd need a huge throw to get enough of a buffer to be able to hold her off in the 800, she's clear in silver so why risk making her elbow worse with the Olympics on the horizon and the gap between worlds and Olympics being shorter than normal so she has less time to get herself right for her defence in Tokyo.

Wonder if KJT will try for the 7000 points, if she misses that she'll surely get the British Record. Or if she'll just be happy for gold after a long few days. Could perhaps latch onto Preiner who has a 2:07pb and see if that can drag her around to a new 800m pb.

Yes, no third throw for Thiam. KJT has the gold. Great competition for her.

She can hit 7000 points if she runs 2:06.0 (2:07.6 PR)

Slightly stroppy behaviour from Thiam, unnecessary fouling her first throw. KJT and the competition has got to her, as well as being unable to deliver what she can.
Sad to see her retire from the JT early but shes thinking longterm. I hope she races and competes properly in the 800, not jog round last innoutaise 2:20

KJT has been brilliant here. Shes at PBs and SBs and held her head together. I'm really impressed. Shes heading for a score greater than any of Thiam's gold winning performances, which is significant
