Indeed...no one has ever done well from the outside lanes...

I do feel for Blake but yeah that's nonsense. If he cared that much about lane draw he should have won his semi, rather than ease back at the line the way he did.

As long as no one is standing in your lane he should be disappointed in his lame excuse

Yohan Blake is a shadow of his former self.

Goes back to the stuff Usain was saying in that interview with the Jamaica Gleaner a few months back about YB and Warrien Weir.

Indeed, Yohan Blake never fulfilled the vast potential he showed in 2011-12 in his early 20s. After his blistering 9.69 and 19.26 he looked like the next Usain Bolt but turned out to be the next Asafa Powell instead. Since winning silver medals behind Bolt in both the 100 & 200 at the 2012 Olympics, Blake has NOT WON A SINGLE INDIVIDUAL MEDAL in either of those events at a World Championships or Olympic Games. Blake turns 30 in December 2019 and it is sad to see him end his career with excuses like this.

"Usain Bolt called out his fellow Jamaican Olympic medalists Yohan Blake and Warren Weir as well as the next generation of his countrymen who have been slower than the top U.S. sprinters in the two years since Bolt retired.

'I’ve walked away from the sport, and no one is there to pick it up, pick up the pieces, keep the level,' Bolt said in a Jamaica Gleaner interview published last week. 'It’s embarrassing for the country. Every time I see people, [they say] come back. We need you. But you have so much talent in Jamaica.'

In 2018, Jamaica had none of the 10 fastest men in the world for the first time since 2003. This year, Blake is the lone Jamaican who has broken 10 seconds, while five Americans have done so."
