Ottey (37) was 3rd in the 1997 World Champs 200.

Merlene Ottey was upgraded to a medal as a 40-year-old in 2000; and Troy Douglas won a relay medal in 2003, also at age 40. I think Gatlin's the oldest man to win a medal in an individual sprint.

They should consider another inquiry to decide whether Thanou should finally be stripped of that silver; after which, Tayna Lawrence finally gets that inexplicably vacant gold, and Ottey the silver. [I always believed--and still do--that a winner always must be declared.]

That would then result in another inquiry regarding Zhanna Block, with Chandra Sturrup waiting in the wings for the bronze.

I'm surprised there would be any wind way down there in a nearly closed stadium like that.

I hope that Michael Johnson (see his comments wherein he says CC cannot be the face for T & F because of the bogus date mix-up) give Christian Coleman his due, because he deserves every accolade due to him. Don't know if Johnson feels threatened by every sprinter who might threaten his legacy or take too big a share of the limelight, but his comments were pure b. s. I understand and support the idea of clean sport, but I think he used this to slag Coleman.
