Johnny set an =AR in the Trials in '84, and then eight years later set the meet record, which I think still stands.
He took a lot of grief over some sub-par performances in a few major meets when he was expected (by many) to medal, but he was a great runner on the Grand Prix circuit and at the US Nationals.
Plus, he was one of those guys who would run against anyone, anywhere.
And a super nice guy whenever I interacted with him.

Noooooo, it was just like the good old days at A&M with Hector Hernandez leading the way. Perfect set-up for Brazier.

If y'all had been sitting next to me during the race, you'd know that I said, "I think this is setting up perfect for him..."

Is Murphy one of those very talented runners who doesn't handle rounds very well? (his OG bronze being the exception). He looked exhausted today!

No idea why Vasquez insists on such awful pacing, 49 and 55. He could probably have done 51/52. Maybe he'll try it next year.
