The men's and women's 1500 heats showed the bias for being in last heat. In the men's three heats:
1st heat only one got in by time
2nd heat two got in by time
3rd heat three got in by time

In women's semi-final:
1st heat none got in by time
2nd heat two got in by time

In men's semifinal:
1st heat none got in by time
2nd heat two got in by time

I don't know how to even up the heats without last heat finalists being allowed to change their pre race strategy from A to B to C base on information from previous heats that the others lack. It is refreshing not to have any rabbits and pure competition between the field.

Yes, Geoff does a lot of announcing. I think Jake runs for Scotland because Geoff worked for many years for Scottish Athletics for many years so they lived there for many years. Jake doesn't have a Scottish accent by the way.

I should hope he doesn't....he and his twin brother were born in Nottingham in 1994...and they didn't move to Scotland until he was almost 10 when his Dad went to Scotland with Scottish Athletics....

His mother, also an identical twin, was the first British woman to break 70:00 for the half marathon...

The notion that Ingebritsen "punched" is laughable. It's an optical illusion of his hand being clenched and him protecting his space. All evidence points to Lemi stepping out in front of him when there was NO space to do so.

Sadly, it would seem the lawyers are winning and the sport is worse off for it.

The one thing to consider is either smaller 1500m fields, or actual Q times plus "next fastest" i.e. take anyone who runs 3:32 straight through, plus however many folks it takes from the heats to get the final field (i.e. no semis either). And if you fall in a final bad luck, but we'll also kick out anyone who does the dumb stuff (which would have been Jakob Inge in both the 5000m heats and final!)

You're right, Lemi cut him off. Seems as if runners from some countries will be the bad guy whether they're in the wrong or not, while others are never held responsible for their actions, most of the time the infraction merely being "...an accident". That said, Jakob the other night...
