    With so many fast guys eliminated before the final, that's not even a big surprise. He had the 4th fastest SB of the finalists.

    Well, there you have it, boys and girls. Neither Sifan Hassan nor Timothy Cheruiyot came here to fool around with the pack. I expect a repeat of this strategy in both 1,500s next year. Either you are going to run like hell from the gun and be able to hold pace, or you are not going to make it to the podium. Period.

    To my thinking, only Bayi's great run in the 1974 Commonwealth Games beats that for front running in a major championships 1500.
