No mention from the TV guys that Chelimo lost a shoe with about 3 1/2 laps to go in his heat on Friday. Ran the last 3 1/2 laps or so with just a sock on one foot.

I did see it later on TV in one of the broadcasts. Will Chelimo medal today? I see him finishing higher than his formchart rank.

His wife had a baby last winter and he had his training routine totally changed because of that and did not make any sojourns up to altitude in our little hamlet of Woodland Park like he has the previous couple of years. Got away for altitude training camp in Kenya, Iím not sure how long he was there but I think this may have him rounding into form better than his performances earlier in the season would predict.

Which could make that foot really sore, perhaps even blistered. Even the smoothest tracks have 'texture'.

For sure. Maybe the sock staying on helped a little. It stayed on through the end. Stuff like that doesn't faze Paul mentally, hopefully the foot will be ok.

Question: Has there ever been three siblings to make the finals in the same WC/OG, much less the same event?
