It sure is when it impedes, which, if both are clearing at the same time, it probably will.

Impeding another runner in their lane is, of course, a violation. I just said that I do not think that having the foot over was not a violation; of course impeding is. What part of that is confusing? On the curve it is a DQ to step on the inside line. Stepping on the outside line is fine as long as you do not impede the other runner.

Next years final should be quite something. All of these guys plus Roberts should be back.

Not at all. His inconsistency earned him his 5th place spot on the chart.

forget inconsistency.... it could be argued that 5 was high on the formchart, given that he was 2nd at USATF at 13.36, didn't race for a month then was 6th in Paris at 13.25, then had a month off before Doha. There were no signs that the real Holloway was with us.

Knocking down a hurdle in the adjoining lane with your trail leg is 'hooking' below the line of the hurdle which is against the rules even in a solo race.

If the foot was in your lane and you knocked the hurdle down it would have the same effect. Hooking, at least the normal hooking, gives you an advantage that knocking down the other hurdle does not. Question: if that lane had been empty (DNS or FS), wouild he have been DQed (and what would the ruling be; I am not sure that hooking applies).

I think that inconsistency after a major peak can be 'overrated' this year because of the unusual schedule. Clearly, he had to back down and build back up. He only had to be third at USATF and the rest of the races did not matter particularly so dissing the World Leader who never finished lower than second in races that mattered, and that to possibly the best hurdler out there.

Because GH & Co. thought NCAA fatigue would be an anvil on his back, as it was for CC in 2017.
