If we're also without Norman, as seems very likely, then our "favorites" role is much less overwhelming and a super fast time probably out the window. But if London and Cherry are part of the group, along with Kerley, could still be pretty good.

The US are still very clear favorites, even without Norman, as long as they don't select someone who is out of shape or unwell to be part of the lineup.

Is Brazier in the relay pool ? We need an encore presentation.

I have sneaking suspicion that a certain nation that Powell is familiar with is going to have a stealth 4x4 squad that will contend for bronze.

He doesn't need to be in the pool per se. Everyone who's a part of the WC team is eligible to run on the relay. They could have Ryan Crouser run if they so chose.

With Hudson-Smith injured I think GB will not match the fifth on the form chart. Yusif has run quite well here but he has already done 4 races.

Fancy Belgium to do better than 10th although the Borlee twins may not be in vintage form.

Lest we forget that Grant Holloway anchored Florida's 4x4 at the NCAA meet in 43.75.

It's up to the US coaches to decide, but he doesn't sound like a bad choice to me.

Between the men's and women's relays, does anyone remember a WC or OG when so many key athletes came up injured during the meet (to varying degrees) who would almost certainly have run trials, if not finals, in one of the relays? So far I count Norman, Benjamin, Bowie, Wimbley, and Gardner. Seems like a lot to me, makes the job tougher for the relay coaches!

Cherry, London, Igbokwe/Richards & Kerley should have little trouble winning Gold. 2:57.5 ish.
