    I haven't heard Holloway's name mentioned as an option. Didn't he have a 43.6r?

It's a wrap. With Kerley, Norman and Benjamin they could add Christian Taylor (or Coleman for that matter) and still win. No WR this year though , next year when they have competition maybe

Why is close competition necessary? Out of the top 8 all time 4x4's run by the US, seems like 7 of them were run without "competition".

I need to see these new faces for the U.S. Norman and Kerley have looked great so far this season but not well tested yet with the pressure and rounds of competition at this level. I do hope they add Cherry & Benjamin as the next two. Benjamin has run a 43 split in college and I like that pedigree. I think the others are good for mid 44 legs and thats about it.

It's pretty much impossible for the US to get any real competition at 2:54 level. A WR would have to be a solo effort.

The vast majority of 4x400 world and collegiate records were time trials for at least the final two legs.

Exactly. It wont take competition to get the WR, it will take the 4 guys pushing themselves to it.

    Benjamin is a shoe in.

The fitness level of whoever is added to Benjamin,Kerley and Norman will likely determine if the WR gets broken. We’ll see how Strother & Norwood do in the open 400m.

Didn't you forget to create a thread for the mixed 4x4?
