    Just checked and Claye had 5 jumps above 17.50m before but never 6. Don't think anyone ever has.

    In this type of competition he would have gladly traded all six of his jumps for just one 17.93 jump!

    Zango first broke the Burkina Faso outdoor NR in 2017, knocking off the old mark of 16.91 (Olivier Sanou 2003).

    He has improved it 8 times (and 75 cms since)

    His succession of outdoor improvements:
    16.97 (2017 WUG Silver)
    17.11 (2018 Afri Ch) preceded by 17.23i
    17.22 26 May 2019, preceded by 17.58i
    17.30 6 Jun 2019
    17.33 28 Jun 2019
    17.33= 12 Jul 2019
    17.50 28 Jul 2019
    17.56 Doha 5th round
    17.66 Doha 6th round

    Rich vein of form

    The African record was 17.37 by Tareq Bougtaib of Morocco, so Zango's last 3 NRs are also ARs.
    This, and the W PV, were really great competitions!
