Doesn't it suck we're not going to see any post-WC re-matches between the top 4?

It ain’t Saudi, there are bars in every big hotel. But no doubt they are busy filling other cups right now.

I just read the thread well after the event was over - these reactions were almost as fun as watching the event itself.

But yeah, this was one of those events you don't forget. (Can't personally compare it to Tokyo, since I experienced that one in the stadium.)

yes, this a prime example of why ending the season w/ the WC is a bad idea

That's true, some of the athletes are in unbelievable good shape....
BTW, this competition was magical. I am still shocked, I would never have expected that from Kovacs... Bukowiecki and Hill, who were the best ones 3 weeks ago, looked bad here but the podium and Romani were astonishing. I think the WR could go next year... and it could even be Kovacs to take it down, I had ruled him out but now I must reconsider....

No, another contest would be anti-climatic.

Probably 90% of the performances in Doha would not be equaled afterwards...certainly not the shot put.

I agree with 26. We would have expected so much, but I think this would have been about as good as we were going to get. Especially wouldn't have come close to this depth from 1st to 9th.
