Now that Mayer won't likely finish - whom shall I want to be Champion?

When was the last time someone not from the US or Europe won a OG,WC, or even finished #1 that year. Warner looks poised to be the Champ. And you would think that AUS and South America would have better decathletes. Can Dubler get the area record?

Mayer giving up on his last attempt in DT. I expect him to want to take as few attempts as possible in the PV as well. Possibly a low opener just to get a mark on the board and then moving right up to 5+

There's never been an Olympic or World Champion not from the US or Europe. C.K. Yang was #1 in '62 and '63 and held the WR.

just for the record, C.K. Yang got a late start at the decathlon, didnt really focus on the event until coming to the states. Had he had a more traditional start, he would still have the Deca WR! Mayer has nothing on C.K. , deal with it!!
